Hello all!  Yes, as my name indicates, I am a stay at home dad.  I have been at home since my daughters were born and they are now eighteen and sixteen.  I have loved being home with them so much that several years ago we decided that I would homeschool them as well.  It has been a wonderful experience and I feel very blessed to have this opportunity.  I had used to play chess years ago in high school but alas, life intervened with it's own priorities and chess was shelved along with a lot of other things.  That was (gulp) over 30 years ago and I was convinced that I really had no time for lengthy chess games.  Being the "Techno-Amish" that my friends call me, I had no idea that there now existed this wonderful world of correspondence chess games on the computer.  Who knew!! lol  So in January 2011 I was introduced to Chess.com by a new friend (now an old chess buddy).  The rest as they say is history.  I've been playing chess and love that I can make moves in a few minutes whenever I have the time.  We'll keep it as our little secret that I "just happen to have the time" a little more often than I should sometimes.  I'm sure all of you know nothing about that sort of thing.   I have really been blessed to have had the opportunity to play some wonderful new friends here (you know who you are) and have loved the chance to play lots of games with my baby brother (who has the nerve to keep threatening to be a better player than me!)  If you are new to playing me, then welcome!  I love playing chess and new opponents.  I will save you the trouble of reviewing a bunch of my games to figure out my game.  I will just play whatever.  I wish I knew more of the strategy and openings, but the truth is I have never had the time to be much of a "student" of the game.  I can barely tell you the names of most of the openings, let alone know any of their lines.  But I do know where pieces do their best work, and I love sharp tactical play.  I just hope to keep learning a little bit at a time and I'm sure you'll help with that.  Right?  So let's play!  Oh and by the way, if you like to chat, feel free.  I love to visit and can be a little chatty sometimes.  (I did mention I am a stay at home dad with 18 and 16 year old girls right?)  I look forward to our games!
